Job summary

Tauranga City Council is looking for two permanent, full-time Project Coordinators to support the Major Projects team. You will coordinate activities, reporting and documents across project lifecycles, helping keep information accurate and accessible.

You’ll work with Programme and Project Managers, contributing to governance reporting, process improvements and timely project delivery. A relevant qualification or equivalent experience is required.

  • Experience coordinating projects across the lifecycle.
  • Proficient with project systems, processes, reporting and documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Clear communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Enjoy improving processes and finding better ways to get things done.
  • Ability to support busy project teams with confidence and flexibility.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project activities, deliverables and milestones across the lifecycle.
  • Support reporting, governance and administration to keep information accurate and accessible.
  • Assist with financial and governance reporting and compliance.
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes and ways of working.
  • Keep projects well-documented and on track, coordinating with Programme and Project Managers.

We have two permanent, full-time Project Coordinator roles available in our Major Projects team. This is a great opportunity to support the delivery of significant civic and infrastructure projects that will help shape the future of Tauranga.

Major Projects leads the delivery of some of the city's most important new infrastructure. These are complex, high-profile projects that support Tauranga's growth, improve how people move around and use the city, and create lasting benefits for our community.

In these roles, you'll work closely with Programme and Project Managers, providing coordination, reporting, administration, and systems support across the project lifecycle. You'll help keep information accurate and accessible, support financial and governance reporting, and identify practical ways to improve processes and ways of working.

You'll play an important support role in keeping projects organised, well-documented, and on track.

  • Have relevant project coordination experience
  • Are confident working with project systems, processes, reporting, and documentation
