Job summary

Millennium Hotels and Resorts in Rotorua, New Zealand seeks a maintenance professional with 2–3 years of hands-on experience across mechanical, electrical, plumbing or joinery trades within hotel environments.

You’ll carry out fault finding, repairs, regular preventative maintenance, and respond to guest maintenance requests, while maintaining high standards in guest rooms and public areas. A trade qualification is beneficial but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in hotels or commercial properties.
• Experience across joinery, electrical, plumbing or mechanical trades is valued.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fault finding and repairs across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Maintain guest rooms and public areas to a high standard, including fixtures, fittings, and finishes
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and team members
• Monitor contractor work to ensure quality and compliance
• Complete work orders accurately and within required timeframes
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and disruptions
• Conduct regular inspections and proactively identify issues

About the Role

Skills & Experience

We’re looking for a Maintenance professional with at least 2 - 3 years’ experience, ideally with skills or exposure to joinery, electrical, plumbing or mechanical trades in a Hotel environment.

A trade qualification is beneficial but not needed, and previous hotel or commercial property experience is preferred as this will help you to hit the ground running in this role.

You’ll also bring:

• Physical fitness and a practical, logical approach to problem‑solving
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
• Handy at most things, but knows when to call in the experts
