Job summary

Fable Hotels and Resorts – Christchurch, South Island is on the hunt for an experienced Maintenance Assistant to join our Repair and Maintenance team on a fixed term. You will address day-to-day maintenance issues and proactively maintain the property to the highest standard.

This full-time role offers day shifts from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with potential weekend availability. A NZ Full Driver's License is preferred and the role is based in central Christchurch.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance/handyman experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Weekend availability if required.
• Mechanically sound and skilled in basic equipment use.
• Sound knowledge of health & safety in relation to your role.

Responsibilities

• Handle routine maintenance issues.
• Maintain the building, plant, equipment, fixtures, and fittings.
• Communicate with hotel departments regarding maintenance needs and action accordingly.
• Be responsible for reporting hazards, incidents, and ensuring your actions do not put others at risk.
• Assist with other duties as directed by management.
• Undertake repairs when necessary, including after hours due to the 24/7 nature of the hotel industry.

About the role

This stunning Hotel is on the hunt for an experienced Maintenance Assistant to join our Repair and Maintenance team on a fixed term basis. In this role you will be responsible for addressing the hotel's day-to-day maintenance issues and proactively maintain the upkeep of the property to the highest standard.

This position is a full-time role, mainly day shifts 8-4:30pm.

Key responsibilities

• Physically fit due to the nature of the role
• Reliable and honest personality
• NZ Full Driver's License
