Job summary

Millennium Hotel Rotorua is seeking a hands-on maintenance professional to keep our property operating at its best.

You’ll work across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, with 2–3 years of hotel maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience in maintenance, ideally in a hotel or commercial property.
• Experience across trades such as electrical, plumbing, mechanical or joinery.
• Trade qualification is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fault finding and repairs across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Maintain guest rooms and public areas to a high standard, including fixtures, fittings, and finishes.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and team members.
• Monitor contractor work to ensure quality and compliance.
• Complete work orders accurately and within required timeframes.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and disruptions.
• Conduct regular inspections and proactively identify issues.

About the Role

You’ll bring at least 2–3 years’ experience in maintenance, ideally within a hotel or commercial property environment. Experience across trades such as electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or joinery will set you up for success.

We’re also looking for someone who:

• Has a strong customer focus and communicates well
• Is practical, reliable, and solutions-oriented
• Can work independently while contributing to a team
• Is hands-on and resourceful, with good judgement on when to elevate

Skills & Experience

We’re looking for a Maintenance professional with at least 2 - 3 years’ experience, ideally with skills or exposure to joinery, electrical, plumbing or mechanical trades in a Hotel environment.

A trade qualification is beneficial but not needed, and previous hotel or commercial property experience is preferred as this will help you to hit the ground running in this role.

You’ll also bring:

• A friendly, customer-focused attitude with strong communication skills
• Physical fitness and a practical, logical approach to problem-solving
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
• Handy at most things, but knows when to call in the experts
