Job summary

ASSA ABLOY in Auckland, New Zealand, seeks a Night Shift Maintenance Engineer to keep production running safely by maintaining equipment, resolving breakdowns and preventing failures.

You will work with Production, Operations and Engineering, perform preventative maintenance, root cause analysis, and contribute to TPM, ISO 9001 compliance and site reliability.

Qualifications

• A Level 4 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance engineering role.
• Experience with TPM, CMMS and LEAN manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical engineering skills including fitting and turning, welding, pneumatics and hydraulics.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support across production machinery to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Deliver preventative maintenance activities as part of the TPM program.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify and prevent recurring equipment issues.
• Document maintenance activities using CMMS and report to teams.
• Support the maintenance and reliability of site services.

Our New Zealand manufacturing operation is focused on safety, quality, continuous improvement and operational excellence.**About the Role**As our Night Shift Maintenance Engineer, you'll help keep production running by maintaining equipment, resolving breakdowns and preventing future failures. Working closely with Production, Operations and Engineering teams, you'll troubleshoot machinery issues, complete preventative maintenance and drive continuous improvement across the site. Your work will directly impact equipment reliability, uptime and production performance.What You'll Be Responsible For:· Provide maintenance support across production machinery to ensure safe and reliable operation.· Deliver preventative maintenance activities as part of the Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) program.· Conduct root cause analysis to identify and prevent recurring equipment issues.· Document maintenance activities using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).· Support the maintenance and reliability of site services.· Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational and environmental performance.· Maintain compliance with quality, safety and ISO 9001 requirements.· Communicate effectively with production, engineering and operations teams, including shift handovers.**About You**You're a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys solving problems, improving equipment reliability and working safely in a manufacturing environment.
