Job summary

ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Engineer for our Albany Rosedale facility in Auckland. You will maintain production equipment, resolve breakdowns, and perform preventive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum and production targets on track.

You will apply root cause analysis, document activities in CMMS, support site services, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring ISO 9001 compliance. A Level 4 Mechanical Engineering cert and 5+ years in a similar role are required.

Qualifications

• Requires Level 4 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 5 years in a similar maintenance engineering role.
• Strong mechanical skills: fitting, turning, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and use of power/hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support across production machinery to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Deliver preventive maintenance under TPM program and drive improvements.
• Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrences and document actions in CMMS.
• Maintain and improve site services and equipment reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing practices on site.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and ISO 9001 requirements and support shift handovers.

Working closely with Production, Operations and Engineering teams, you'll troubleshoot machinery issues, complete preventative maintenance and drive continuous improvement across the site. Your work will directly impact equipment reliability, uptime and production performance.What You'll Be Responsible For:· Provide maintenance support across production machinery to ensure safe and reliable operation.· Deliver preventative maintenance activities as part of the Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) program.· Conduct root cause analysis to identify and prevent recurring equipment issues.· Document maintenance activities using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).· Support the maintenance and reliability of site services.· Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational and environmental performance.· Maintain compliance with quality, safety and ISO 9001 requirements.· Communicate effectively with production, engineering and operations teams, including shift handovers.**About You**You're a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys solving problems, improving equipment reliability and working safely in a manufacturing environment.
