Job summary

Recorp in Auckland's Manukau site seeks a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the Maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our high-speed aluminium beverage can plant, combining hands-on mechanical maintenance with structured fault diagnosis to improve equipment reliability.

Your work involves diagnosing faults using structured methods, driving root-cause actions, conducting planned maintenance, condition monitoring

Qualifications

• Recognised Mechanical or Engineering Trade Certificate (essential).
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills with root-cause capability.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and equipment data.
• Experience in high-speed manufacturing with complex equipment is advantageous.
• Formal root cause analysis training and CMMS experience are valued.
• Knowledge of reliability engineering, condition monitoring, SPC, Lean or aluminium can manufacturing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Keep high-speed lines running safely and reliably, identifying root causes rather than symptoms.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently, restore equipment safely and correctly.
• Complete scheduled maintenance, condition monitoring and inspections.
• Support machine conversions, installations, commissioning and modifications.
• Work safely, adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, and ensure equipment is clean and verified before production.
