About the Role :
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance team at our Manukau site in Auckland. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our complex, high-speed aluminium beverage can manufacturing plant. This role combines hands-on mechanical maintenance with structured fault diagnosis, data analysis and root cause problem-solving to improve equipment reliability, reduce recurring failures and strengthen plant performance.
The Role Will Involve
Keeping our high-speed lines running safely and reliably, and finding the real cause behind every fault rather than just fixing the symptom.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently, restoring equipment safely and correctly. Apply structured diagnostic methods such as fault isolation, 5 Whys and cause-and-effect analysis to identify underlying causes and put lasting corrective actions in place.
Equipment Reliability & Preventative Maintenance
Complete scheduled maintenance, condition monitoring and inspections. Identify recurring failures, use maintenance history, production and SPC data to spot trends, and contribute to improvements in equipment availability, stability and performance.
Support machine conversions, installations, commissioning and equipment modifications, while building a sound understanding of complex plant equipment and how it affects product quality.
Work safely in line with all requirements, including LOTO, permits, confined space and working at heights. Meet food safety and hygiene standards, and make sure equipment is clean, safe and verified before it returns to production.
Maintenance Records & 5S
Accurately record work, equipment history, corrective actions and parts usage in our maintenance systems, and keep the workshop, tools and stores to 5S best practice.
Work closely with Production, Quality and Maintenance to solve problems, share knowledge, and contribute to technical training, troubleshooting guides and standard procedures.
