Job description

HIGH SPEED. HIGH DEMAND. BIG EARNINGS.
This is your chance to join one of the world’s leading beverage can manufacturers, supplying major brands across New Zealand and beyond.

Based at their Wiri facility in Auckland, you’ll be working in a large-scale, highly automated manufacturing plant featuring some of the most advanced can-forming, printing and packaging lines in the country. With thousands of cans rolling off the lines every minute, reliability is everything.

Backed by a global organisation that continues to invest in its technology, equipment and people, this is an opportunity to put your mechanical skills to work in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment.

KEEP PRODUCTION HUMMING
This is more than your typical maintenance role. You’ll be hands-on with high-speed production machinery, helping keep the lines running safely, efficiently and reliably.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Changing machinery tooling and completing pre-start checks.
  • Responding to breakdowns, troubleshooting faults and getting equipment back up and running.
  • Carrying out general engineering work, including measuring, machining, fitting and precision assembly.
  • Working alongside the workshop maintenance team when more extensive repairs are required.
  • Recording completed work and maintenance activities in the site’s CMMS.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives to maximise machine performance.

You’ll work a 4-on, 4-off rotating shift pattern: two days from 6 am to 6 pm, followed by two nights from 6 pm to 6 am, then four days off before the cycle starts again.

WHAT’S ON OFFER?
The remuneration package is a serious drawcard.

With a strong base hourly rate and a generous range of additional allowances, annual earnings will comfortably exceed $130,000. There’s also the opportunity to pick up extra shifts on your days off and increase your earnings further.

If you’re looking for a role where your skills are well rewarded, this one is worth a conversation. Get in touch to find out more about the full package.

UP TO THE CHALLENGE?
To be considered, you’ll need:

  • A New Zealand Level 4 trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting and Turning, or Maintenance and Diagnostics.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Experience working with equipment such as pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, motors and gearboxes.
  • A genuine interest in fine-tuning, optimising and improving machinery performance.

If you enjoy solving mechanical problems, working with sophisticated equipment and seeing the immediate results of your work, this could be the role for you.
