Job summary

Griffin’s Snacks in Papakura, Auckland, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer – Day Shift to keep our busy FMCG plant running smoothly. This hands-on, fast-paced role runs Monday to Friday 7.55am to 4.25pm and reports to Engineering Team Lead.

You’ll apply your trade cert and 10+ years of manufacturing experience to plan and execute PMs, diagnose breakdowns, install/repair mechanical systems, and support Lean projects while promoting health and safety.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in fitting/turning or maintenance & diagnostics is required.
• 10+ years of proven experience in a manufacturing operation (food production preferred).
• Proven experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to work unsupervised.
• Commitment to health and safety and best-practice in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and implement productivity initiatives to reduce downtime and improve OE.
• Ensure planned preventative maintenance and system checks are completed on schedule.
• Diagnose and repair breakdowns.
• Perform mechanical installations and repairs; maintain pneumatic, hydraulic and steam systems.
• Machining, welding and fabrication as needed.

We\'re on the hunt for an enthusiastic, skilled and qualified maintenance engineer to join our team as aMaintenance Engineer – Day Shift, working a fixed shift Monday – Friday 7.55am to 4.25pm.Reporting to Engineering Team Lead, this hands on and fast paced role is based at our iconic manufacturing plant located in Papakura, Auckland.

Here at Griffin’s Snacks we produce many iconic and much-loved kiwi brands, including Griffin's, Eta, Nice and Natural and Huntley and Palmers, and this hands-on and fast paced role plays a pivotal part in the smooth running of our manufacturing plant and supports our operations team to produce our biscuits and crackers.

We\'re looking for someone who uses their initiative daily and who is keen to continue to further develop their existing knowledge by working with some state-of-the-art automated equipment and getting involved in some exciting new projects centred around adopting Lean Manufacturing methodologies, then this could be the role for you!

What you\'ll be responsible for:

What you\'ll bring to the role?

• You\'ll have a trade certificate in fitting/turning or maintenance & diagnostics


• 10+ years of proven experience working in a manufacturing operation (experience within a food production environment preferred)


• Proven experience working with computerised maintenance management systems


• Excellent communications skills – you are great at keeping everyone in the loop!


• A love of teamwork – you enjoy working with others and are always willing to lend a hand when needed
