Job summary

Van Den Brink Poultry in Tuakau, NZ, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team at our primary processing site. You will handle preventative and reactive maintenance across production equipment, support start-up/shut-down activities, and help keep operations safe and efficient.

The role suits someone who enjoys variety, problem solving and a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, with exposure to fast-moving machinery, health & safety focus, and a commitment

Qualifications

• Mechanical NZCE apprenticeship or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience in FMCG/food processing environment.
• Strong focus on Health & Safety and continuous improvement.
• Welding experience is an advantage.
• Forklift experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance across machinery and production equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and troubleshoot faults.
• Machine settings and adjustments to optimise performance.
• Support start-up and shut-down processes.
• Work with fast-moving machinery.
• Planned servicing of machinery.

Van Den Brink Poultry have an exciting opportunity for an experiencedMaintenance Engineerto join our engineering team at our primary processing site in Tuakau. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work across a wide variety of preventative and reactive maintenance tasks and provide hands‑on support across plant and production equipment - including daily start‑up and shut‑down activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem‑solving, and the pace of a food manufacturing environment. You’ll develop and apply a wide range of maintenance skills while playing a key role in keeping our operations running safely and efficiently.

Hours:Monday - Friday, 5:00am -1:30pm + occasional rostered Saturdays

About the Role

• Preventative maintenance across machinery and production equipment
• Responding to breakdowns and troubleshooting faults
• Machine setting and adjustments to optimise performance
• Supporting start‑up and shut‑down processes
• Working with fast‑moving machinery
• Planned servicing of machinery

What We’re Looking For

• Mechanical experience in FMCG, food, or other process‑flow industries
• Mechanical NZCE apprenticeship or similar overseas equivalent (preferred)
• Strong focus on Health & Safety and continuous improvement
• Welding experience is an advantage
• Forklift experience while not a requirement would be advantageous
