Technical Recruitment Solutions Ltd. is seeking a Machine Operator for a six-month contract at a large, automated beverage can plant in Wiri, NZ. No prior can-making experience is required, but mechanical aptitude and a hands-on attitude are valued.
Training will cover multiple areas of the production line, with a view to permanent placement based on performance. The role involves operating machinery, monitoring quality, and assisting with changeovers.
If you’ve got experience working around machinery, enjoy a hands‑on role and know the importance of being a reliable team player, this could be a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with a well-established manufacturing business.
Our client is a global manufacturer of beverage cans, operating a large-scale, highly automated production facility in Wiri. With production volumes ramping up heading into the busy summer period, they’re looking for a Machine Operator to join their team.
This is a six‑month contract to start, with the potential to transition into a permanent position depending on business requirements and individual performance. While previous can‑making experience would be useful, it’s certainly not essential. They’re open to people from a range of backgrounds who have the right attitude, mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
You’ll initially receive training across different areas of the production line, with the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge as you gain experience.
You don’t need a trade qualification or specific can‑making experience for this role. Experience in other manufacturing environments, mechanical roles or similar hands‑on positions could be just as relevant.
Please note: permanent employment and the associated pay rate are subject to business requirements, performance and the terms of the permanent employment offer. Applicable shift loadings may also be available.
Applicants must have unrestricted New Zealand working rights. Successful applicants will be required to complete reference checks and a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening. Reliable transport is essential due to the rotating shift pattern.
