JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, managing the storage and issuance of engineering supplies and spare parts, and ensuring the availability of essential tools and components required for the safe and smooth operation of the feed mill. This role supports the engineering team by organizing stock, planning tasks related to engineering, handling procurement requests, and ensuring a safe and efficient storeroom and engineering work environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management
  • Receive, inspect, record, and store engineering supplies, tools, and spare parts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and disposal of obsolete or damaged items.
Issuance and Requisition
  • Issue materials, tools, and spare parts to maintenance personnel based on approved requests.
  • Manage checkout and return processes to track items issued and received.
  • Assist in preparing procurement requests for replenishment of stock items.
Coordination with Departments
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and other relevant departments to understand their material needs.
  • Liaise with Receiving & Dispatch Clerks to coordinate the flow of engineering supplies, ensuring timely receipt of parts and proper dispatch of items from the storeroom.
Stock Organization
  • Keep the storeroom organized, clean, and safe.
  • Implement proper storage procedures to prevent damage or loss.
  • Ensure safety regulations are followed in the storeroom.
Vendor and Supplier Coordination
  • Liaise with suppliers for procurement and delivery of parts.
  • Create and track POs for parts and Inventory
  • Verify received items against purchase orders and delivery notes.
Recordkeeping and Documentation
  • Maintain accurate logs of inventory movements and transactions.
  • Prepare reports on stock levels, usage, and discrepancies as required.
Safety and Compliance
  • Coordinate Maintenance related Job Safety Analysis and permitted work documentation as required by the laws of Barbados, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) recommendations and Maintenance Documentation.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues in the storeroom.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience in storeroom, inventory, or warehouse management, preferably in a manufacturing or feed mill environment.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical parts and tools.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and MS Office.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and handle heavy items as needed.
