Job summary

The DoubleTree by Hilton Christchurch is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our small team. You will perform maintenance work promptly and to the highest standard, ensuring a great experience for guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities include complying with fire, health and safety regulations, preventative maintenance, energy conservation, and attending training. Flexibility and teamwork are essential to support guest needs and hotel operations.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Christchurch is looking for an all-rounder Maintenance Assistant to join our small team looking after the iconic Chateau on the Park hotel. The role is responsible for carrying out maintenance work promptly and always to the highest standard, delivering an excellent experience for both Guest and Team Members.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Implement company statutory and legal requirements including fire, health and safety, hygiene, electricity at work, and all local by-laws
  • Respond to all enquiries promptly
  • Carry out maintenance repair work and ensure the appropriate PPE is worn during all repair
  • Follow planned preventative maintenance programmes
  • Ensure good relationships with internal and external customers and contractors
  • Ensure energy conservation initiatives are implemented
  • Follow Health & Safety regulations.
  • Attend additional training suitable to the role

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Previous maintenance experience including electrical, plumbing or painting and decorating
  • Relevant qualifications for the role
