Job summary

Laminex New Zealand, part of Fletcher Building, is expanding its Taupo plant and seeks a Machine Operator (Day Operator) for the Finishing Team. You will operate and monitor the finishing line, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of machine experience in manufacturing, strong mechanical aptitude, and a proactive safety mindset. Forklift experience is a plus. This is a day shift with paid breaks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience operating machinery in manufacturing/production.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with a quality-focused mindset.
• Basic computer skills and data entry experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
• Forklift licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate sanding, cutting, strapping, and packing machinery.
• Cut boards to production specifications and pack for shipping.
• Conduct quality checks, visual inspections and measurements.
• Troubleshoot machine faults, line stoppages, and defects.
• Monitor equipment via HMI systems and adjust as needed.
• Replace sanding paper and assist with routine maintenance.
• Move finished products with a forklift to the warehouse.
• Maintain health, safety, and quality standards.
