Job summary

The role requires 2+ years of machinery experience, strong mechanical ability, and a safety-minded approach. Forklift experience is a bonus. The position offers paid breaks within a supportive, career‑oriented plant environment.

• Troubleshoot faults, line stoppages, and defects.
• Monitor equipment via HMI systems.
• Replace sanding paper and assist with routine maintenance.
• Move finished products with a forklift to the warehouse.
• Maintain health, safety, and quality focus.

Laminex New Zealand, part of Fletcher Building, is a leading manufacturer of decorative surfaces and panel products. With ongoing investment in our new Taupó plant, we offer exciting opportunities to join a modern, innovative, and safety-focused manufacturing environment.

About the Role:

Our team in Taupó is looking for a Machine Operator (Day Operator) to join our Finishing Team at our manufacturing plant. In this hands‑on role, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring the finishing line to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

Your duties will include:

• Operating sanding, cutting, strapping, and packing machinery.
• Cutting and packing boards to production specifications.
• Conducting quality checks, including visual inspections and measurements.
• Troubleshooting machine faults, line stoppages, and product defects.
• Monitoring and operating equipment through HMI systems.
• Replacing sanding paper and assisting with routine machine maintenance.
• Moving finished products with a forklift to the warehouse.
• Maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, and quality.

Friday, 6:30am - 12:00pm, with paid breaks.

About You:

• Minimum 2 years' experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
