Job summary

Laminex New Zealand, part of Fletcher Building, is seeking a Day Operator for the Taupō finishing team. You will operate the finishing line to ensure safe, efficient production and quality standards.

Responsibilities include operating sanding, cutting, and packing machinery, performing quality inspections, troubleshooting faults, and moving finished goods with a forklift. Shift: Mon-Tue 6:30am–4:30pm; Wed-Thu 6:30am–4:00pm; Fri 6:30am–12:00pm with breaks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with a quality-focused mindset.
• Basic computer skills and experience with data entry.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
• Forklift licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate sanding, cutting, strapping, and packing machinery.
• Cut and pack boards to production specifications.
• Conduct quality checks, including visual inspections and measurements.
• Troubleshoot machine faults, line stoppages, and product defects.
• Monitor and operate equipment through HMI systems.
• Replace sanding paper and assist with routine machine maintenance.
• Move finished products with a forklift to the warehouse.
• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and quality.

With ongoing investment in our new Taupō plant, we offer exciting opportunities to join a modern, innovative, and safety-focused manufacturing environment.

About The Role

Our team in Taupō is looking for a Day Operator to join our Finishing Team at our manufacturing plant. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring the finishing line to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

Your Duties Will Include

• Operating sanding, cutting, strapping, and packing machinery.
• Cutting and packing boards to production specifications.
• Conducting quality checks, including visual inspections and measurements.
• Troubleshooting machine faults, line stoppages, and product defects.
• Monitoring and operating equipment through HMI systems.
• Replacing sanding paper and assisting with routine machine maintenance.
• Moving finished products with a forklift to the warehouse.
• Maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, and quality.

Shift: Monday & Tuesday, 6:30am - 4:30pm; Wednesday & Thursday, 6:30am - 4:00pm;

Friday, 6:30am - 12:00pm, with paid breaks.

About You

• Minimum 2 years' experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or production environment.
