Job summary

Sky Network Television in Auckland is seeking a Broadcast Solutions Engineer to design, integrate, and maintain our broadcast infrastructure from live contribution through to playout and distribution. You will produce detailed system designs, configure and document systems, and work with vendors to ensure stability, resilience, and operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with SDI/IP, ST 2110, NMOS, and SRT, plus a proactive, collaborative

Qualifications

Experience designing and maintaining live broadcast systems.
Knowledge of SDI/IP, ST 2110, NMOS, SRT.
Ability to operate in incident and disaster recovery contexts.
Strong documentation and cross-team collaboration.
Hands-on scripting or automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, integrate, and maintain Sky’s broadcast systems across contribution, production, playout, and distribution environments.
Produce and maintain detailed, auditable system designs aligned to architecture, security, and operational standards.
Install, configure, commission, and document broadcast systems before handover to operations.
Troubleshoot incidents with Support Engineers and vendors, driving fixes that reduce repeats.
Act as a broadcast engineering SME and apply current knowledge of SDI/IP technologies and trends.
Work in live or mission-critical environments with strong problem-solving skills.
Collaborate across technical teams and leverage APIs, orchestration platforms, and automation frameworks.
