Job summary

NZ Ski Limited is seeking a Maintenance Technician to look after our Arial Ropeways and surface lift conveyors, based at The Remarkables Ski Area in Queenstown. You will also support the maintenance of our vehicle fleet and assist with base building and ski area upkeep.

Role requires mechanical background, NZ recognised trade certs, and a valid NZ driving licence. Experience with heavy equipment and working at heights is advantageous. 4 days on, 3 days off roster; full-time, permanent position.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering or fabrication background with NZ recognised trade certs.
• Hold a NZ driving licence.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical and 24VDC electrical systems repairs.
• Experience with heavy industrial equipment would be advantageous.
• Working at heights and rigging qualifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of Arial Ropeways and Conveyor systems (3 detachable chair lifts, 1 fixed grip, 4 conveyor carpets).
• Assist with maintenance on vehicle fleet (Pisten Bully groomers, loaders, diggers, telehandlers, trucks, Utes, side by sides and skidoos).
• Contribute to general base building and ski area maintenance.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Maintenance Head of Department, the primary role will be the maintenance of our Arial Ropeways and Surface lift Conveyors. This consist of 3 detachable chair lifts, 1 fixed grip and 4 conveyor carpets. As a secondary duty you will be expected to help with the maintenance on our vehicle fleet. This consists of Pisten Bully Groomers, Loader, Digger, Telehandler, Trucks, Utes, Side by Sides and Skidoos. Also, you will have the freedom to get involved in general base building and ski area maintenance.

Skills and Qualifications:

Location: The Remarkables Ski Area

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

Roster: 4 days on, 3 days off, 40 hours a week.

• Summer: Usually Monday through Thursday but can vary with project coverage
• Winter roster: Same three days off but must have flexibility on work week as we are a 7-day operation.
