Job summary

Tekapo Springs in New Zealand invites applications for a Maintenance role focused on safety, upkeep and environmental stewardship of our property and assets. You will work with the team to follow maintenance schedules, support policy development, and help maximise resource efficiency while minimising waste.

Responsibilities include keeping records, supporting external contractors, ensuring peak plant efficiency, snow grooming for winter operations, and operating the Zamboni to maintain optimal

Responsibilities

• Carry out tasks to ensure Tekapo Springs & Tekapo Stargazing's property and assets are safe, functional and clean.
• Work with the team to follow the maintenance schedule and keep records updated.
• Assist in writing and developing new policies as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
• Support the maintenance manager and team to use resources efficiently and minimise waste.
• Maintain equipment, machinery and vehicles and return them to allocated locations.
• Ensure the presentation of Tekapo Springs meets customer and management expectations.
• Support external contractors as needed.
• Work with the Maintenance Manager to keep Plant operating at peak efficiency.
• Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Carry out snow grooming to optimise the Snow Tube for customers.
• Drive the Zamboni to resurface the ice rink for ideal customer enjoyment.

Job description

About the role

• Carry out tasks to ensure that Tekapo Springs & Tekapo Stargazing's property and assets are safe, functional and clean.

Key responsibilities

• Work together with the team to ensure that the maintenance schedule / calendar is followed and records are updated accurately
• Provide assistance with writing and developing new NOPs or Policies as directed by the Maintenance Manager
• Support the maintenance manager and the wider team in ensuring the company makes optimum use of its resources, minimises waste and is environmentally friendly
• Treat the equipment, machinery & vehicles with care ensuring they are used correctly and returned to their allocated locations after usage
• Take personal pride in the presentation of Tekapo Springs ensuring that a customer's point of view is always considered and that the property is kept at the level expected by our customers and management team
• Support external contractors engaged at Tekapo Springs as needed
• Work with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the Plant is operating at peak efficiency
• Ensure all preventative maintenance is carried out effectively and efficiently minimising any potential downtime for the business
• Carry out snow grooming to ensure our winter Snow Tube is performing optimally for our customers
• Drive the Zamboni to resurface our ice rink as required to ensure an ideal surface for our customers to enjoy

Desirable

• Experience operating in the tourism industry, in particular Aquatic, Snow, Ice Rinks.
• Has relevant trade expertise and/or trade qualification.
