Job summary

Hanmer Springs is seeking energetic, customer-focused team members to join our aquatics team as Lifeguards, Surf Instructors, and Hosts. These hands-on roles emphasize safety, guest experience, and memorable moments around our waters and the YourWave standing wave attraction.

You'll help guests build confidence, deliver high-quality service, and work across the aquatic complex with strong training support, including National Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate progression.

Qualifications

• Be confident in the water and a capable swimmer.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Team player who is reliable, professional and safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safety of guests in and around pools and aquatic facilities.
• Providing excellent customer service and creating positive guest experiences.
• Supervising pool and wave activities and responding appropriately to incidents.
• Delivering first aid and emergency response when required.
• Coaching and encouraging guests participating in the YourWave experience.
• Explaining activities, safety requirements, and operational procedures.
• Monitoring water quality, temperatures, and facility presentation.
• Assisting with cleaning, maintenance, and operational tasks.
• Supporting other departments and contributing to a positive team environment.
• Helping guests build confidence while having fun.

YourWave is our exciting new standing wave attraction,offering guests the opportunity to experience surfing in geothermally heatedwater surrounded by stunning alpine scenery. The role combines coaching,hosting, guest engagement, and operational responsibilities to deliver anunforgettable experience.

• Bephysically capable of carrying out water safety and rescue duties
• Bewilling to work weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts

Full training will be provided for the right candidates thisincludes obtaining your National Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate and aworkplace 1 st aid certificate. Our pay rate ranges from $25 - $30 depending on experience.
