Job summary

Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) invites applications for a Team Leader – Learning Support based in Hamilton, Rotorua, or Tauranga. You will coordinate learning support for students with additional needs and lead a team of Teacher Aides, Additional Teachers, Mentors and Reader/Writers.

With a teaching background and knowledge of special education pedagogy, you will build strong relationships with ākonga, whānau and staff, applying bicultural approaches and tikanga Māori in practice.

Qualifications

• Teaching background with experience supporting students with additional learning needs.
• Knowledge of special education pedagogy.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, whānau and staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate learning support for students with additional needs.
• Lead and manage Teacher Aides, Additional Teachers, Mentors and Reader/Writers.
