Job summary

South Auckland Middle School is seeking an experienced Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) to join our team. This is a new 0.2 FTTE permanent role starting at the beginning of Term 1, 2027, with 1 management unit.

You will be released from classroom teaching for the LSC portion of your role and work with leadership, teachers, ākonga and whānau to identify learning support needs. You will coordinate with RTLB, MOE learning support specialists and other agencies to ensure timely access to the right

Qualifications

• Registered teacher with full practising certificate is essential.
• Experience working with diverse or additional learning needs.
• Ability to build capability in colleagues and work collaboratively across a school.
• Be culturally responsive and committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers to recognise and respond to diverse learning needs and build inclusive practice.
• Observe and work directly with ākonga to understand and identify support needs.
• Support planning, implementation and review of individual learning and support plans.
• Partner with whānau so they can understand and access learning support.
• Coordinate with RTLB, Ministry of Education learning support specialists and other agencies.
