Job summary

Welcome Bay School invites applications for a Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) to join our leadership team from the start of Term 1, 2027. This fully released role offers the flexibility to work alongside kaiako and students to support every learner to thrive.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of learning support systems in Aotearoa New Zealand, experience with Tier 2 and 3 students with high and complex needs, and confidence navigating Ministry and external processes.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of learning support systems in Aotearoa New Zealand
• Experience with Tier 2 and Tier 3 students with high and complex needs
• Confident navigating Ministry and external support processes (ORS, IWS, HHNF, RTLB, IRF, LLI, ESOL)
• Experience in SENCO and/or LSC roles or similar
• Enjoys collaborating and working as part of a team

We are seeking a learning support coordinator (LSC) to join our leadership team from the beginning of Term 1, 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference for tamariki, kaikao, and whānau.

The LSC role is fully released, with the flexibility to work alongside kaiako and students where needed. You will lead, influence, and collaborate to ensure that every learner is recognised, supported, and able to thrive.

We are after someone who:

• has a strong understanding of learning support systems in Aotearoa New Zealand
• understands Tier 2 and Tier 3 students with high and complex needs
• is confident in navigating Ministry and external support processes (ORS, IWS, HHNF, RTLB, IRF, LLI, ESOL)
• brings experience in SENCO and/or LSC roles or similar
• enjoys collaborating and working as part of a team.
