South Auckland Middle School is seeking an experienced Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) to join our team. This is a new 0.2 FTTE permanent role starting at the beginning of Term 1, 2027, with 1 management unit.

You will be released from classroom teaching for the LSC portion of your role and work with leadership, teachers, ākonga and whānau to identify learning support needs. You will coordinate with RTLB, MOE learning support specialists and other agencies to ensure timely access to the right

Qualifikationen

• Registered teacher with full practising certificate is essential.

About the role

South Auckland Middle School is seeking an experienced, inclusive teacher to join us as our first Learning Support Coordinator (LSC). This is a new 0.2 FTTE permanent position, starting at the beginning of Term 1, 2027. The position carries 1 management unit (MU). Days of work are negotiable.

As our LSC, you will work alongside our leadership team, teachers, ākonga and whānau to identify learning support needs early and make sure our learners get the right support at the right time. You will be fully released from classroom teaching for the LSC portion of your role.

The role will include:

• Working with teachers to recognise and respond to diverse learning needs, and building inclusive practice across the school
• Observing and working directly with ākonga to understand and identify support needs
• Supporting the planning, implementation and review of individual learning and support plans
• Partnering with whānau so they can understand and access learning support
• Coordinating with RTLB, Ministry of Education learning support specialists and other agencies

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a registered teacher with a current full practising certificate (essential)
• Has demonstrated experience working with and including learners with diverse or additional learning needs
• Can build capability in colleagues and work collaboratively across a school
• Is culturally responsive and committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• Is organised, approachable and a confident communicator with whānau and external agencies
