Job summary

Flaxmere College in Hawke's Bay invites applications for an experienced leader of learning – Mathematics to head our Mathematics learning area for 2027. The role focuses on mentoring teachers, lifting numeracy achievement, and delivering engaging, culturally responsive maths learning across years 7–15 and wharekura.

The successful applicant will model high-quality teaching and inclusive practice, build strong relationships with students, whānau and the community, and contribute to curriculum

We are looking for an educational leader who can:

• lead and support teachers to deliver engaging, culturally responsive mathematics learning
• raise student achievement and strengthen numeracy outcomes
• develop collaborative teaching practices and curriculum innovation
• build positive relationships with students, whānau, and the wider community
• champion inclusive learning environments where every student can succeed
• show experience in teaching all levels of NCEA Mathematics.
