Job summary

Halter is seeking Lead Engineers who tackle the hardest problems, make critical architectural calls, and ship robust software that powers farming with hardware, software, and AI integrated on real farms.

You will shape platforms with scalable REST APIs, cloud services, and on-device processing, while mentoring peers and improving testing and deployment patterns. Office-first culture with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Lead Engineers capable of solving hard problems and shipping robust software.
• Ability to make architectural decisions and back them with code.
• Experience with building and scaling REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Comfort with cloud environments and IoT integrations is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Tackle the hardest problems and ship work that proves them out.
• Make architectural calls and back them up with code.
• Set the standard for thoughtful engineering: clean, observable, maintainable code.
• Support and mentor other engineers through design discussions and code reviews.
• Help set pace and quality for engineering at Halter.
• Evolve testing strategies, CI/CD workflows, and infrastructure patterns.
• Own reliability and performance of your domain with end-to-end ownership.
• Develop deep domain knowledge by spending time on farms.
