CGR Services is seeking Senior & Lead Data Centre Engineers / AI Installation Supervisors for a 7-month contract in Auckland.

You will lead large-scale rack-and-stack, coordinate multiple vendors, and manage data centre infrastructure delivery across sites, including cabling, power, cooling, and GPU/HPC deployments. Strong leadership and vendor-management skills are essential for on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

OPPORTUNITY ALERT: Opportunity to work on Multi-Billion-Dollar AI Data Centre Upgrade Program, Largest in the Australian Marketplace. We are partnering with a leading organisation driving DC Upgrades, Delivering GPUs at scale and multiple AI Infrastructure / AI Facilities Installations.

We have Multiple (7-Month Contract - Extend) Lead Data Centre Engineer / AI Installation Supervisor roles available in Auckland.

You will manage and cordinate Data Centre sites, Supervising field staff and subcontractors. You will lead Rack-and-stack, structured cabling, liquid/air cooling and power management installation Vendors / Subcontractors. Hardware Delivery focus.

This is a rare opportunity to play a lead role in the delivery of a large-scale GPU and High-Performance Compute (HPC) environment, supporting the deployment of an 8K cluster across multiple Data Centre sites.

The program includes the installation and commissioning of over 100 GPU racks, large-scale structured cabling activities, power provisioning, rack deployments, and advanced air and liquid cooling infrastructure.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior & Lead Data Centre Engineers / Managers with strong experience in racking & stacking Data Centres.

You will require experience Managing Cabling / Rack Installation / Device Installation vendors / subcontractors to Deliver.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading large-scale rack and stack activities across multiple Data Centre sites
• Coordinating server unboxing, asset staging, rack installation, and commissioning activities
• Managing rack elevation alignment, hardware placement, and deployment standards
• Overseeing structured cabling programs including copper and fibre installation, routing, labelling, and quality assurance
• Supporting GPU infrastructure deployments and high-density compute environments
• Coordinating power provisioning activities and working closely with facilities and infrastructure teams
• Supporting air-cooled and liquid-cooled infrastructure deployments
• Managing vendors, subcontractors, and deployment teams
• Driving project timelines and ensuring delivery milestones are achieved
• Maintaining deployment documentation, asset records, and implementation standards
• Troubleshooting installation and infrastructure issues during deployment phases
• Ensuring adherence to site safety, operational, and compliance requirements

Experience Required:

• Experience in Managing Cabling Vendors / Subcontractors to Deliver
• Ability to co-ordinate Multiple Vendors on Data Centre Sites
• Hands-on Data Centre Infrastructure leader or Engineer
• Strong experience in Racking & Stacking Data Centres
• Deep knowledge of Rack-and-stack and structured cabling procedures
• Data Centre Hardware Delivery Experience
• Knowledge of Liquid/Air Cooling and Power Management
• Experience delivering Data Centre upgrades, expansions, or greenfield deployments
• Strong understanding of Data Centre cabling standards and fibre infrastructure
• Experience working with high-density compute, HPC, GPU, or hyperscale environments (ideal)
• Experience coordinating multiple workstreams across several Data Centre sites
• Strong vendor, stakeholder, and contractor management skills
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments with aggressive delivery timelines
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
