Reboot Monkey is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for a full-time, on-site role in Waitakere City, NZ. This position supports mission-critical infrastructure at premier data center facilities and includes hardware installations, cabling, racking, and migrations.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in data centers or IT infrastructure, strong cabling skills, and server hardware experience. Certifications (CDCP, CCNA) are a plus; on-call rotation applies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, single-mode/multi-mode fiber).
• Experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro).
• Professional communication skills in English.
• Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS, or similar) - preferred.
• Network certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+) - preferred.
• Familiarity with major colocation providers - preferred.
• Experience with DCIM and ticketing systems - preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes.
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic)
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams
