Job summary

Auxo Talent in Auckland is seeking an experienced Data Centre Installation Foreman for a 4-month contract on a major AI infrastructure programme, leading installation teams on the data centre floor and coordinating rack deployment, power, cooling, and cabling.

You will bring practical site leadership, strong problem-solving, and collaboration with engineering and facilities teams from planning through handover, with opportunities for extension in Australia.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supervising data centre installation or fit-out teams is essential.
• Strong knowledge of rack elevations, cabling diagrams and installation specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead technicians and subcontractors, organise daily work and coordinate safety briefings, site access and deliveries.
• Check site readiness (power, cooling, space, access) so installation teams can start work.
• Oversee rack positioning, server and network equipment installation, cabling and labelling per drawings.
• Coordinate power, cooling, grounding and connectivity with engineering and facilities teams.
• Track progress, ensure installation quality, resolve site issues with technical teams.
• Support initial power-up, testing and commissioning.
• Maintain installation records and as-built documentation through to handover.

About the opportunity:

Lead installation teams on a major AI infrastructure programme and expand your experience with GPU and high-density compute technology.

Our client, a global technology solutions provider, has several opportunities for experienced Data Centre Installation Foremen in north-west Auckland. You’ll lead work on the data centre floor, bringing technicians, subcontractors and engineering teams together to deliver complex installations.

From preparing the site and coordinating rack deployment through to testing and handover, you’ll be involved throughout the installation process. The role combines practical site leadership, technical problem-solving and close collaboration with the teams delivering the programme.

What you’ll do:

• Lead technicians and subcontractors, organise daily work and coordinate safety briefings, site access and deliveries
• Check site readiness, including power, cooling, space and access, so installation teams can get to work
• Oversee rack positioning, server and network equipment installation, structured cabling and labelling against technical drawings
• Coordinate power, cooling, grounding and connectivity requirements with engineering and facilities teams
• Track progress, check installation quality and work with technical teams to resolve site issues
• Support initial power-up, testing and commissioning
• Maintain installation records, quality checks and as-built documentation through to customer sign-off and handover

Skills you’ll bring

• Previous experience supervising data centre installation or fit-out teams is essential, with direct responsibility for leading technicians or subcontractors
• Strong practical knowledge of rack-and-stack procedures, structured cabling, cable management, power, cooling and grounding requirements
• The ability to read and interpret rack elevations, cabling diagrams, network drawings and installation specifications
• Experience planning daily work, coordinating multiple teams and managing installation schedules and logistics
• A sound understanding of site safety, access procedures, installation quality and documentation requirements
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to give direction on site, resolve issues and keep project teams and customers informed
