Job summary

Wakatipu Garden Care is seeking a motivated Landscape Gardener to join our growing team in the Queenstown region. You will care for residential and commercial gardens, maintaining outdoor spaces to the high standards our clients expect.

You’ll work as part of a medium-sized, supportive team and occasionally independently, ensuring every property stays looking its best. Prior gardening/landscaping experience is preferred and legal work status in NZ is required.

Qualifications

• General garden maintenance and duties as listed in the job description.
• 1–2 years of gardening/landscaping or horticulture experience preferred.
• Knowledge of local plant species and growing conditions.

Responsibilities

• General garden maintenance – mowing, trimming, pruning, hedging, weeding, and spraying.
• Planting, mulching, and seasonal garden preparation.
• Lawn and garden bed care, soil conditioning, and fertiliser application.
• Assisting with small landscape installations and planting projects.
• Identifying plant health issues and maintaining garden aesthetics.
• Using and maintaining power tools and machinery safely.
• Representing the Wakatipu Garden Care brand with professionalism.

We are looking for a motivated Landscape Gardener to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will take pride in creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces, working across a variety of residential and commercial gardens throughout the region.

You’ll work as part of a medium sized, supportive team and occasionally independently, ensuring every property we care for is kept to the high standards our clients expect.

Key Responsibilities

General garden maintenance – mowing, trimming, pruning, hedging, weeding, and spraying.

Planting, mulching, and seasonal garden preparation.

Lawn and garden bed care, soil conditioning, and fertiliser application.

Assisting with small landscape installations and planting projects.

Identifying plant health issues and maintaining garden aesthetics.

Using and maintaining a range of power tools and machinery safely and efficiently.

Working professionally with clients and team members, representing the WGC brand with pride

Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture (1–2 years ideal).

Legal right to work in NZ.

Knowledge of local plant species and growing conditions.

Ability to work independently and within a team.

Physically fit and comfortable with manual outdoor work.

Current NZ driver’s licence (ability to drive manual vehicles a bonus ).

Positive attitude and good communication skills.
