Qualifications

• Two years' practical experience in professional horticulture or landscape maintenance.
• Excellent plant knowledge and advanced pruning skills.
• Experience maintaining high-end gardens to an exceptional standard.
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Prune ornamentals and topiary with precision.
• Lawn renovation, edging and premium turf maintenance.
• Irrigation inspections and minor repairs.
• Pest, disease and weed identification and management.

Landscape Gardener

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position working across a portfolio of premium properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Precision hand pruning of ornamental trees, shrubs and hedges.
• Specialist pruning, shaping and topiary.
• Fine detailing and presentation of high-end gardens.
• Planting and establishment of trees, shrubs and perennials.
• Plant identification and ongoing plant health care.
• Lawn renovation, edging and premium turf maintenance.
• Irrigation inspections, troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Pest, disease and weed identification and management.
• Soil improvement, fertilising and mulching.
• Seasonal garden maintenance and enhancement.
• Safe operation and maintenance of professional horticultural equipment.
• Assisting with landscape enhancement and installation projects as required.
• Working both independently and collaboratively within a professional team.
• Delivering exceptional service and maintaining excellent relationships with clients.

• A minimum of 2 years' practical experience in professional horticulture or landscape maintenance.
• Excellent plant knowledge and advanced hand pruning skills.
• Experience maintaining high-end gardens to an exceptional standard.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to communicate professionally with clients, suppliers and fellow team members.
• A friendly, respectful and reliable approach that contributes to a positive workplace culture.
• A willingness to learn, accept feedback and continually develop your skills.
• A full New Zealand Driver Licence (or the ability to obtain one).
• A high level of physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors year-round.

Employment Details

Position: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Arrowtown, Queenstown and surrounding Queenstown Lakes District properties.

Guaranteed minimum hours: 30 hours per week.

Pay rate: $30.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
