We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team on a full‑time, permanent basis. This is a fast‑paced role that is essential to the smooth operation of our kitchen.
As a Kitchen Porter, you will support our chefs and front‑of‑house team by maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This position requires someone who enjoys physical work, has excellent attention to detail, and takes pride in keeping high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Washing dishes, pots, pans, cutlery and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing equipment
Maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen areas throughout service
Cleaning floors, walls, benches, shelving, cool rooms and storage areas
Assisting with waste management and recycling
Receiving, checking and storing deliveries
Assisting with basic food preparation as directed by chefs
Restocking kitchen supplies during service
Following food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures
Supporting the kitchen team with general cleaning and operational tasks
Assisting with opening and closing kitchen duties
Ensuring all cleaning schedules are completed to a high standard
The successful applicant will:
Be physically fit and capable of working on their feet for long periods
Be reliable, punctual and have a strong work ethic
Work well under pressure in a busy commercial kitchen
Have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Be able to work independently as well as part of a team
Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Be available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
Have good communication skills in English
Applicants must have at least 6 months experience in a commercial kitchen, stewarding, cleaning, or hospitality environment.
Experience using commercial dishwashing equipment is preferred.
Basic food preparation experience is an advantage.
