Job summary

Wanaka Speights Ale House is seeking two experienced Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team in Queenstown, NZ. You will assist the Head Chef with daily operations, ensure consistency, and uphold food safety standards.

You will manage a station during service, monitor quality and portions, keep a clean and safe work area, and help maintain our menus and procedures. Start date 01.10.2026; full-time, 30+ hours per week on a 5-day roster, weekends.

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant kitchen experience or NZQF-level qualification required.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen environment is required.

Responsibilities

Wanaka Speights Ale House - Queenstown, South Island

We are seeking two experienced and talented Chef de Partie to join our team at the Wanaka Speight's Ale House.

This role will assist the Head Chef in executing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, consistency, and compliance with food safety standards.

What you'll be doing:

• Working closely with the Head Chef and the rest of the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and service.
• Managing a specific station of the kitchen independently during service
• Monitoring food quality, portion control, and presentation for your station
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment in line with current health regulation standards
• Ensuring menus, food standards, procedures and processes are always followed

What we're looking for:

• At least two years of relevant experience as a Chef or a relevant NZQF (or comparable) culinary qualification.
• Proven experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
• Hourly wage band of $30-35/hour. Full-time, permanent position (minimum 30 hours guaranteed) on a 5 day roster, including weekends. Our chefs average around 40 hours if they want to.
• Start date: 01.10.2026 - Early October 2026 (we have some flexibility for the right candidate).
