Job summary

Accor is seeking a Kitchen Hand at Novotel & Ibis Rotorua Lakeside to support our chefs and F&B team in a fast-paced hotel kitchen. You will help with dishwashing, basic prep, equipment cleaning, and ensuring stock and cleanliness across shifts.

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Able to work well within a team in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
• Takes pride in cleanliness and presentation of work areas.
• Physically capable of standing and moving for shifts.
• Good attention to detail in dishwashing and hygiene tasks.
• Available across 7 days a week including weekends/holidays.
• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is an advantage, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes and keep the kitchen clean and organised.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation.
• Prepare and clean kitchen equipment.
• Ensure dishes, utensils and equipment are ready and available.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, floors and storage spaces.
• Assist with deliveries and stock storage.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards.
• Support team during busy breakfast, lunch and dinner services.
• Perform other general kitchen duties as required.

Novotel & Ibis Rotorua Lakeside is looking for a Kitchen Hand to join our team and help keep our kitchen running smoothly.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment, takes pride in keeping things clean and organised, and is keen to learn and develop their hospitality skills.

Job Description

As a Kitchen Hand, you’ll play an important role in supporting our chefs and wider Food & Beverage team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Washing dishes and keeping the kitchen clean and organised
• Assisting chefs with basic food preparation
• Preparing and cleaning kitchen equipment
• Ensuring dishes, utensils and equipment are available when needed
• Keeping kitchen areas, floors and storage areas clean
• Assisting with deliveries and putting stock away
• Following food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards
• Supporting the kitchen team during busy breakfast, lunch and dinner services
• Completing other general kitchen duties as required

• Is physically fit and comfortable being on their feet
• Has good attention to detail
• Is available to work a range hours, with shifts rostered across 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays as required.
• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is an advantage, but not essential. Full training will be provided to the right person.
