Job summary

As a Kitchen Assistant for our Whangarei village, you will be at the heart of our kitchen's day-to-day operations, helping ensure our chefs deliver nutritious, high-quality meals to residents and visitors. You will assist with food prep, plating, dishwashing, and keeping areas clean and compliant, contributing to a warm, well-run kitchen for residents and families.

This permanent part-time role covers Monday and Tuesday, 10.30am to 7.00pm, with opportunities for ongoing training and uniform

Qualifications

• Previous work experience ideally within hospitality.
• Friendly, can-do attitude and great communication skills.
• Good physical stamina.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping and portioning
• Helping with plating and presentation of meals
• Operating dishwashers and ensuring all kitchenware is properly sanitised
• Keeping kitchen areas clean, organised, and compliant
• Helping to receive, unpack and store deliveries, including stock rotation
