Job summary

Summerset Group Holdings Limited in Auckland City, NZ, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for a permanent part-time role (Thu–Sat 4:00–8:00pm) at St Johns Village. You’ll support chefs with food prep, plating, dishwashing and keeping the kitchen clean and compliant to health and safety standards.

You are approachable, reliable and comfortable working as part of a team with good communication. Training, uniform and ongoing career development are provided, with daytime hours on non-event days.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience ideally within hospitality.
• Friendly, can-do attitude and great communication skills.
• Good physical stamina.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping and portioning.
• Help with plating and presentation of meals.
• Operate dishwashers and ensure all kitchenware is sanitised.
• Keep kitchen areas clean, organised and compliant with standards.
• Receive, unpack and store deliveries with stock rotation.
