Job summary

Summerset Whanganui village is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to support the kitchen team in delivering nutritious meals to residents and visitors.

You’ll help with food prep, plating, dishwashing, and keeping work areas clean and well-organised, while embracing a team-focused, can-do approach.

Shifts are 4 days on, 2 off, with AM and PM rotations. Training is provided, with opportunities to grow within our supportive, friendly village community.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality is preferred.
• Strong work ethic and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping and portioning.
• Helping with plating and presentation of meals.
• Operating dishwashers and ensuring all kitchenware is properly sanitised.
• Keeping kitchen areas clean, organised, and compliant.
• Helping to receive, unpack and store deliveries, including stock rotation.
