Kitchen Assistantat
MB Century in Taupo, where you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of high‑quality catering services in a busy remote-site environment. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, thrives in a team setting, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service.You’ll work a 7 days on / 7 days off roster, averaging
66.5 hours per working week. The site operates 24/7; you will work day shifts only. Accommodation, parking, gym access, and all meals are provided at no extra cost.
What would you be expected to do:
You will help ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen and dining spaces through duties such as:
- Deliver warm, friendly customer service by responding promptly to customer needs and ensuring supplies are replenished.
- Maintain clean and hygienic dining, kitchen, and public areas—including cleaning tables, equipment, fridges/freezers, and managing rubbish and stock rotation.
- Assist with food preparation, plating, and presentation while adhering to the site Food Safety Plan.
- Wash dishes and kitchen equipment, ensuring all cleaning schedules and hygiene standards are followed.
- Support additional site requirements such as laundry duties, meal deliveries to the rig, stocktake, and completing daily food safety entries (Safe Food Pro).

- Must be a team player and someone who is used to working alone and as part of a wider team.
- Will have a passion for health and safety.
- Will need to have the ability to work independently and confidently but, most importantly, you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
- Ideally you will have some experience working in a commercial kitchen and ideally you will hold food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 and 168)
- MUST hold a Full NZ Drivers Licence.
