Compass Group New Zealand is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Retail Assistant to join our Staff Café team at Middlemore Hospital. This role offers guaranteed 40 hours per week and is ideal for someone passionate about customer service, food preparation, and creating a welcoming café experience.

You will deliver exceptional service to café customers and hospital staff, prepare and serve food to a high standard, produce barista-style coffee, operate cash handling and POS, and help maintain food

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail, hospitality, café, or customer service environments preferred.
• Food Safety Unit Standard 167 qualification or willingness to obtain it
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Friendly, reliable, and positive attitude with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
• Commitment to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
