Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato Hospital is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join the Nutrition and Food Services Retail and Cafe team. You will prepare coffee, sandwiches and wraps, serve customers, handle cashier duties, keep seating areas tidy and wash dishes in a commercial dishwasher.

The role features rostered shifts between 6:00 am and 8:30 pm, Monday to Sunday, with weekends and public holidays possible.

Qualifications

• Extremely reliable with a strong attendance record.
• Able to work within a team and show care and empathy.
• Communicate effectively in English; adapt to hospital environment.
• Must have NZ residency or an eligible working visa.

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our Nutrition and Food Services Retail and Cafe team. In this role you will be responsible for tasks like making coffee, sandwiches and wraps, serving customers, cashier responsibilities, keeping seating areas, clean and tidy and washing dishes using a commercial dishwasher.

The position involves rostered shifts and duties Monday to Sunday,scheduled between 6:00 am and 8:30 pm, requiring flexibility and a positive attitude towards variable working hours. It may include weekends & public holidays. Your role/hours will be confirmed on offer.
