Job summary

Compass Group is seeking a Catering Assistant for the Air New Zealand Lounge at Wellington Airport. This permanent part-time weekend position provides high-quality food and beverage service, ensuring guests enjoy a premium and relaxing experience.

You will join a hospitality team, assisting with setup, service, and guest care, while maintaining lounge standards and brand integrity. NZ residency or valid NZ work visa required; some certificates preferred.

We are seeking a Catering Assistant to join our team at the Air New Zealand Lounge in Wellington Airport. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality food and beverage service, ensuring guests enjoy a relaxing and premium experience. You’ll work collaboratively with the team to maintain service standards and uphold the Air New Zealand brand. This is a Permanent Part Time position during the weekend.

Deliver friendly, professional, and uniquely Kiwi customer service.

Assist with food and beverage service, including setting up and clearing tables.

Prepare and serve espresso coffee and alcoholic beverages responsibly.

Maintain lounge cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times.

Replenish supplies, rotate stock, and assist with ordering as required.

Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role.

A team player with strong communication skills and a flexible attitude.

Physically fit, reliable, and committed to high standards of presentation.

Holds or is willing to obtain a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate, Police Clearance, and AVSEC clearance.

NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) preferred.
