Job summary

West Coast District Health Board is seeking a casual kitchen assistant to cover annual and sick leave at Greymouth. You will assist cooks, follow standardised recipes, and deliver meals to patients and staff, with a focus on clean, tidy workspaces. This role is customer‑facing, requiring strong service skills and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

Training will be provided. Starting rate is $28.63 per hour, with time‑and‑a‑half on weekends and double time on public

About the Role

Our kitchen team are responsible for creating highest standard Food for ourstaff, patients and visitors. Following standardised recipes and using creativeflair to present food that we can be proud of while maintaining clean and tidyworking areas.

A large part of this role is customer focused so you willneed strong customer service skills and the ability to deal with a wide rangeof people from diverse backgrounds. Training will be provided.

Salary

Starting rate $28.63 per hour.Based on the E tū Service and Food Workers collective agreement.
