Job summary

Number One Shoes + Hannahs in Ashburton is seeking a Key Holder to join our team. This leadership role blends hands-on customer service with oversight of daily store operations, ensuring an Every Day Great Experience for customers.

You will lead shifts, coach Sales Assistants, manage opening/closing, stock presentation and safety, and help the team reach sales targets. A minimum of one year in retail and supervisory experience is required; 17.5 hours per week with flexible hours where possible.

Qualifications

• At least one year of retail or customer-facing experience.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Customer Experience & Sales: deliver exceptional customer service, greet and assist customers, resolve queries, promote add-on sales, and model great service for the team.
• Store Operations & Standards: open/close the store, maintain security, keep the store clean and safe, merchandising, stock presentation, cash handling, and health and safety compliance.
• Leadership & Shift Management: lead shifts, allocate tasks, manage breaks, support decision-making, help the team achieve sales targets and KPIs.
• Team Development & Support: coach Sales Assistants, support new team members, embed best practices, recognize performance, escalate concerns to the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Problem Solving & Issue Resolution: handle customer escalations and operational challenges and resolve issues promptly.
