Job summary

Unknown company in New Zealand is seeking an Industrial Engineer to oversee end-to-end material movements, mass balance, and reporting across multiple sites. The role emphasizes data accuracy, process improvement, and travel between sites to support operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Industrial Engineering and at least three years in manufacturing or FMCG environments, with strong Excel and ERP/MES experience, and exposure to Lean/Six

Qualifications

• BEng/BTech/BSc in Industrial Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing, FMCG or food production environment.
• Experience with ERP/MES systems and production or stock reporting.
• Strong Excel skills; Power BI or similar BI experience advantageous.
• Understanding of production and supply chain processes, including receiving, production, WIP, warehousing and dispatch.
• Knowledge of mass balance and yield reconciliation principles.
• Close attention to detail and a strong focus on data accuracy.
• Process improvement mindset; Lean or Six Sigma exposure advantageous.
• Valid drivers licence and own transport.
• Ability to work independently and travel between multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage end-to-end material and product movements from receiving through to dispatch.
• Prepare and manage the daily mass balance, investigating and resolving variances.
• Identify discrepancies between physical stock movements and system records.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for material flow, production, WIP, stock accuracy and dispatch.
• Investigate root causes of variances and implement corrective actions.
• Review and improve processes to reduce manual work, duplication and data inaccuracies.
• Standardise and document data capture procedures and system usage.
• Support cycle counts, stock takes and inventory accuracy across sites.
• Identify bottlenecks, waste and process breakdowns and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide regular reporting on mass balance, throughput, WIP, stock accuracy and dispatch performance.
• Travel between sites as required.
