Qube Careers is seeking an organised Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team in New Zealand. This entry-level role supports the processing of supplier invoices, record maintenance and timely payments in a fast-paced environment.

You will learn practical accounts payable processes, data entry accuracy and supplier relationship management while contributing to strong financial controls.

Qualifications

• Starting out in finance or accounts career and eager to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clear and professional communication with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Organised, reliable and able to manage routine processing tasks within deadlines.
• Basic numeracy and comfort handling invoices, payments and reconciliations.
• Willingness to follow procedures and escalate issues when unsure.
• Experience in administration, data entry or finance support is advantageous but not required.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Excel are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Enter supplier invoices accurately into the accounting system and correct OCR or scanning errors.
• Check invoice information for completeness, accuracy and documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date supplier details (contact, payment details, supporting records).
• Communicate with suppliers, managers and internal stakeholders about processing, approvals and payments.
• Assist with organising payment runs in line with terms and procedures.
• Complete supplier statement reconciliations and follow up on discrepancies.
• Help resolve invoice and payment queries and escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain electronic records and filing to support audit and controls.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring invoice issues.
