Job summary

EROAD is seeking an intermediate Software Engineer to join its Java engineering team in Albany. You’ll own backend features end to end with security, scalability and testability in mind, building microservices and RESTful APIs for our cloud-native SaaS platform.

You’ll work with AI coding tools, review AI-generated output before merge, and contribute to testing and deployment, on-call rotations and a collaborative engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Production experience with Java in backend systems.
• Experience reviewing AI-generated code before merge.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Experience with microservices and RESTful API design.
• Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL or SQL Server.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of backend features end to end with security, scalability and testability in mind.
• Build and evolve microservices and RESTful APIs for a cloud-native, event-driven SaaS platform.
• Decompose tasks for AI agents and review AI-generated code before merge.
• Design and implement automated tests across unit, component and integration levels.
• Take part in an on-call rotation and report to the Chapter Lead.
