Job summary

EROAD is seeking a Senior C# Software Engineer to join our Auckland team (Albany HQ). You will influence architecture and drive AI-assisted engineering initiatives, mentoring peers and delivering scalable, cloud-native systems.

You'll own microservices and event-driven components, implement RESTful APIs, and ensure robust test automation, monitoring, and CI/CD practices. This role offers impact across multiple countries and a chance to grow with a high-growth tech company.

Qualifications

• Strong production backend experience in C#/.NET.
• Azure cloud-native architecture experience with .NET.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven systems.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and data modeling across MongoDB / PostgreSQL / SQL Server.
• Test automation across unit, component, integration and end-to-end levels.
• CI/CD with trunk-based development and Docker.
• Observability: monitoring and alerting in production systems.
• Hands-on use of AI coding tools and agents with review-before-ship practices.
• Ability to mentor engineers and raise technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture and system design decisions across the platform.
• Direct AI coding tools and agents as a primary delivery mechanism, reviewing output before shipping.
• Mentor engineers and raise the squad's technical standards.
• Build and evolve microservices and event-driven systems with RESTful APIs.
• Own test automation across unit, component, integration, and end-to-end levels.
• Support production systems with monitoring, alerting, and observability practices.
• Work within CI/CD pipelines and trunk-based development to ship reliably.
