Job summary

One Sushi Wigram in Christchurch is recruiting three full-time Cooks to join the team. The ideal candidate will have 1 year of relevant experience or a level 4+ qualification, and must be available to work weekends, overtime, and late-night shifts with the ability to do two shifts in one day.

A full commitment to the role is required, and training will be provided as needed. The role involves cooking to Japanese techniques, portioning and presenting dishes, maintaining high quality and timely

Qualifications

• 1 year relevant experience OR a level 4+ qualification.
• Available to work weekends and overtime.
• Flexible to work late-night shifts and two shifts in one day.
• Full commitment to the role is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food as required.
• Season food using Japanese cooking techniques.
• Portion food, plate dishes or containerize for takeaway.
• Maintain high food quality and timely service.
• Check stock levels and place orders with suppliers.
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff as needed.
• Assist with menu planning and recipe creation.
• Collaborate with chefs on food preparation matters.
• Prepare dietary meals as needed.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen and manage supplies.
