One Sushi Wigram in Christchurch is hiring three full-time Cooks to join our kitchen team. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of relevant experience or a level 4+ qualification and must be able to work weekends, overtime, and late shifts.

You will prepare and cook dishes, apply Japanese techniques, manage portions, assist with stock, and help train junior kitchen staff while upholding health and hygiene standards in a busy, friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant experience or a level 4+ qualification.
• Available to work weekends and overtime.
• Flexible to work late-night shifts and two shifts per day.
• Full commitment to the role.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and cook food as required.
• Season food using Japanese cooking techniques.
• Portion food, plate dishes or place them into takeaway containers, and add gravies and sauces.
• Ensure food quality is consistently maintained at a high standard and meals are served to customers in a timely manner.
• Assist chefs with checking food stock levels and placing orders with suppliers.
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff on cooking procedures using your knowledge and experience when required.
• Assist chefs with menu planning and recipe creation.
• Work with other chefs to discuss food preparation matters.
• Prepare dietary meals to meet customers' special requirements.
• Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen in accordance with health and hygiene regulations.
• Manage frozen and fresh food supplies.
